Finletter inadvertently provides the first demonstration of his boss's invention when, while traveling by boat, he was attacked by KAOS agents. In order to escape them he dove overboard forgetting he had an ounce of the formula in his pocket, becoming, as Maxwell Smart puts it, "the only man who ever drowned in dirt."
