Remotely controlled from the headquartes of the Crime International Network Ltd. under the park, it shoots an arrow which delivers a dose of a sleeping drug to Maxwell Smart as part of a plot to steal the Rocket-powered Roller Skates he is testing in the park.
C.I.N. refers to the statue as "Interceptor One", implying that there are other such installations, not necessarily statues.
